Winning the lost to Jesus Christ while helping believers worship in spirit and truth, mature in their faith becoming ministers not just members, while meeting the needs of people for the glory of God.
 
In the One True God eternally existing in perfect unity in three persons- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, I John 5:7)

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments was given to us by divine inspiration verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit and is inerrant and infallible in its orginial manuscripts given for our instruction in Christ-like living. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21)

Jesus was the Word "made flesh" (John 1:14) taking upon Him our nature while remaining the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and died upon the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world. After His death He arose bodily and ascended into heaven and is now interceding as our High Priest until the time when He will bodily return in power and glory. (Luke 1:34, 35, Philippians 2:5-8, I Peter 2:21-25, Luke 24:1-7, Hebrews 4:14-16, I Thessalonians 4:16-18)

Man was created in God's image but fell into sin thus becoming separated from God and lost; except a person be born again by the Holy Spirit of God he cannot see the Kingdom of God. The salvation that new birth brings is completely by grace through faith, made possible by Jesus' death on the cross. This salvation gives the believer forgiveness of sin and eternal life through the power of the Resurrection of Jesus. (Genesis 1:26, 27, Genesis 3:1-8, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12-17, John 3:3, John 3:16, Ephesians, 2:8,9)

The church is a called out company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body united by the risen and ascended Lord Jesus Christ as the body of Christ. (Acts 2:41-47, Matthew 16:16-18, Ephesians 1:20-23, Colossians 3:14, 15)

That until the return of Jesus, believers should be engaged in the activity of fulfilling Jesus' commission to make disciples that make disciples for the glory of God. (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19,20)

 

Going - We believe God desires for us to be actively seeking people who are separated from Him. We do this through specially designed outreach events and the building of personal relationships in our communities, workplaces, and schools. (Luke 10:2)


Growing - God is consistently working in our life through the Bible, Holy Spirit, circumstances, and the church to help us mature in our faith becoming more conformed into the image of Jesus. We strive to be a catalyst in this area by offering personal discipleship opportunities, small group Bible studies, special training events, and grace filled worship. (Eph. 4:14, 15)


Giving - The life of Jesus can be characterized as a life of giving. We experience bountiful blessings from the giving hand of God as he works thru His servants. It is in the spirit of servanthood that we make available opportunities to give through a variety of ways. Whether it is teaching a class, maintaining the facility, financially supporting ministry locally or abroad, or preparing a meal for the needy, we have discovered that it truly is more blessed to give than to receive. (Matthew 20:28)


Glorifying - God's word teaches us that we are to glorify God in all that we do. Ministry participation is made available and encouraged for each one, and opportunities to share what God has done for them are always present at Gassaway Baptist Church. Whether in the church setting or the community, we feel it's vital to bring glory and give praise to our wonderful God for His many blessings. (I Cor. 10:31)
