Mission Statement: To gain a passion to serve,
love and live as Jesus did with a compassionate heart. Youth are a vital part of the ministry here at Gassaway Baptist Church. They are not considered the church of tomorrow, but they are part of the church of today! They have one of the greatest mission fields of all time, their schools. Here at Gassaway Baptist Church we try and equip our youth with the tools and resources they need to be an effective witness at their schools and in their daily lives. We offer a wide range of classes for grades 5-12 on both Wed. and Sunday. Grades 7-12 on Sunday mornings have the choice of taking elective classes to help strengthen their walk with Christ. These are intense studies that require them to do daily Bible studies at home. We also offer a youth oriented service on Sunday mornings. This service is high energy with a praise and worship band, drama, use of media technology and a different style of preaching. We also offer a youth ministry team that meets once a month to teach the youth how to be an effective disciple. Each youth on the team is assigned a mentor for a year to help with the training. Here at Gassaway Baptist Church we also have a youth choir that is active. They do one major musical a year and usually a special or two for the holiday seasons. They also sing at other churches when asked. Youth at Gassaway Baptist Church have the opportunity to be actively involved in ministry and to use their gifts and talents for the Lord. They are a vital part of the ministry and they are God’s gift to us. We believe that the youth of America will be the ones to turn this country around in the next generation. Here at Gassaway Baptist Church we also do a lot of activities with the youth. Our youth have the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and to invite their lost friends to everything we do. Our activities range from the strange and weird to the normal. Over the course of high school the youth will have the chance to experience 4 different mission trips. One in the state one in the USA and one outside the country. We believe this gives our youth the chance to experience God in the mission field. We also have a youth oriented newsletter, which they write and publish. They youth also head up Youth Serve, which does not community projects. We also believe in having fun. We go on many trips throughout the year. These include: Paintball We use our activities as a way for the youth to invite their friends. This is a great way to introduce youth to Christ and get our youth involved in the ministry. |
